
The West Haven Vietnam Veterans group was honored to be invited by Ryan Noonan, Marine Veteran and Manager, Military & Veterans Affairs and members of the Military Veterans Group of the University of New Haven to the university campus for a flag raising ceremony and breakfast.
The ceremony recognized March 29th, Vietnam War Veterans Day and extended a WELCOME HOME to all in attendance.



Dave Ricci, President of the West Haven Vietnam Veterans group was humbled by the efforts of the university, “Serving as a Marine in 1968 in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive, and then returning home, well to say the least, both were a shocker. We can never forget those that never made it home to receive this Welcome Home. Today, I feel good”
March 29th, Vietnam War Veterans Day, joins six other military-centric annual observances codified in Title 4 of the United States Code §6, among them Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day.
West Haven Vietnam Veterans presented to Jens Fredericksen, Ph.D. President, University of New Haven and Ryan Noonan, Manager, Military & Veterans Affairs, University of New Haven, Letters of Appreciation and supporting materials for their efforts on behalf of the veteran and military student population and their outreach to the veteran community at large.
Then it was time to eat, and the fixings were Great and appreciated by all, especially in a warm room !!!
Al Beck, Vice-president of the West Haven Vietnam Veterans group said, ” This is a little warmer than March 29th in Vietnam”
