February 14th, Valentines Day 2025 has proven to be another day to long be remembered by a group of veterans who were the guests of the Bailey Middle School student body.
Members of the West Haven Vietnam Veterans group and U.S. Military veterans of the Bailey Middle School staff were presented with hand-made personalized Valentines and a vase of fresh flowers, each with a personal student thank you written within to start off the event.
Additionally, every student at the school composed a Special Valentine with a handwritten thank you note inside which the WHVV group were honored to accept and deliver on behalf of the students to the West Haven Veterans Hospital to be distributed to the veteran population.
But it got ever better, … a full course breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, fresh strawberries, heart shaped waffles, coffee, juices, fresh pastries and more topped off the gathering.
Every veteran in attendance was humbled by the genuine gestures, efforts and comments of the student population.
One Veteran commented how thankful he was for his “Thank You For Your Service” salute but more importantly how proud he was of the student body and thought of each and every one of them as his own child.
Now that’s a “Great” Valentines Day !!!
